Sanders - Praying to Adopt - Update

In our last update, we [Jamal & Sirena] introduced ourselves and talked about how a birth mother and family for private adoption backed out of the arrangement. Since then, our supporters have continued to assist with finding a match. We have not found one yet, but our faith continues. For this post, we are highlighting our newly developed play area. We understand there are many other aspects of an adoptee's life. Nevertheless, we're extending a heartfelt invitation by sharing this significant accomplishment and keeping the faith alive. We sincerely hope you feel welcome to be part of this experience with us. All the photos were taken from inside our home at the time of this post. The theme of this post is “Imagine”.

Imagine a home meticulously designed with care and arranged thoughtfully, offering a nurturing space for newborns, infants, and children to live, learn, and partake in playful activities. The inside of the home imitates the outdoors, featuring trees, sunlight, and grass. A real picket fence in the living area symbolizes the home's clear intent to welcome a newborn child.

Imagine a home that offers a range of opportunities for children to develop their motor skills, cognitive abilities, and creativity, where toys are simple, and designed to encourage hands-on exploration. Envision spaces equipped with everything from stacking blocks to shape sorters, allowing toddlers to practice hand-eye coordination, grasping beads for infants, or puzzle boards for preschoolers. Imagine one baby becoming the recipient of this.

Imagine a family that believes "family is a spirit", not a color, and that the most important thing is to provide love and a nurturing environment that aligns with the core principles of the Bible. Our intention is to extend unconditional love, the kind that Jesus demonstrated, and to equip the child with the tools to navigate the complexities of the world. As this child grows, we will be committed to engaging in honest conversations about how God views race, culture, and spirituality. Understanding and addressing their questions and concerns will further support their development and sense of belonging.

The interesting thing about this post is that it’s not imaginary at all. This is a true reflection of our home and preparations for a child. We are real people, in a real Christian home, knowing that someone out there, a mom and baby, can benefit from this reality. We are standing by for active and authentic communication. We know there are herds of people online appealing with a similar tone. But we would are hoping to cut through the noise.

We wholeheartedly embrace the idea of an open adoption arrangement. However, should you feel more at ease communicating through an attorney, kindly inform us, and we'll share the contact info for ours to ensure everything is in order.
Thanks for your time and interest. God bless, Jamal & Sirena
